TIMELINE is a place to keep your work in the order you made it. This page describes exactly what the app stores, where it goes, and who else can see it. It was written by reading the app's own code rather than from a template, so that what it says and what the app does are the same thing.

Accounts are handled by Google Firebase Authentication. If you sign up with an email address, TIMELINE receives your email address; your password is set and held by Firebase and is never stored by TIMELINE in any readable form. If you sign in with Google instead, Google passes TIMELINE your email address, your name, and your Google profile picture. Nothing else from your Google account is requested or received.
Whatever you choose to fill in: your name, profession, a short biography, a website, a country, and a location. The location field is text you type — a city or a country you want shown on your profile. It is never read from your phone. TIMELINE also keeps the interests you pick, the people you follow, and which posts and comments you have liked, so those things survive when you change device.
Photographs, videos, PDF documents and 3D models you add to a post are stored in Google Firebase Storage in a folder belonging to your account. Files carry whatever information was already inside them when they left your device — a photograph taken on a phone may, for example, contain the camera model or the time it was taken. TIMELINE does not read that information, and does not add anything to it.
The title, date, description and media of each post, plus comments and likes. A post you mark public is stored so that anyone can read it, including people with no TIMELINE account — that is what public means, and it is the point of a portfolio. A post you mark private or team-only is stored under your account and is not served to anyone else.
If you join or create a team, TIMELINE stores the team code, who is on the roster, requests to join, and who has been invited to watch. Other members of that team can see your name and your role in it.
Some things are kept only in your browser's own storage on your own phone or computer, and are never sent anywhere: your display preferences, whether you have seen the current version, your notification list, and the record of what you have liked. Clearing your browser's site data removes all of it.
TIMELINE is a small application built on other companies' infrastructure, so being told "we do not share your data with anyone" would not be true. These are the companies whose systems your data passes through, and what each one does:
Beyond those, your data is disclosed only where the law requires it.
To run the account you asked for, to show the work you chose to publish, to let the people you invited see it, and to keep a record of a purchase. There is no other purpose. TIMELINE does not build a profile of you for advertising, because it carries no advertising.
Your posts and profile stay until you delete them or delete your account. A deleted post is removed from the database; the public copy goes with it. Backups held by Google Firebase may keep a copy for a short period after that, which is outside TIMELINE's control.
Open Settings in the app and choose DELETE ACCOUNT. This removes your account and the data belonging to it. If you would rather ask a person to do it, write to support@timelinelab.app from the address you signed up with, and it will be done.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of what is held about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, or to object to it being held at all. Write to support@timelinelab.app and say which of those you want. No reason is needed and nothing is charged.
TIMELINE is not intended for children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them. In parts of Europe the age is 16. If you believe a child has made an account, write to the address above and it will be removed.
Google Firebase and Netlify operate servers in several countries, so your data may be stored or processed outside the country you live in — including in the United States. Both companies publish their own terms for those transfers.
Connections to TIMELINE are encrypted. Database access is governed by rules that permit each account to reach its own data and the posts marked public, and nothing else. No system is perfect: if you find a way to reach something you should not be able to reach, please write to support@timelinelab.app rather than using it.
If what the app does changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top changes too. The current date is the one shown above.
